ERHS Weekly Update 8/31/2020

Greetings ERHS Pioneer Family!  This is Ms. Sorrells with this week's updates.  On tomorrow (8/31/2020), the district will be operating in Phase 3. That means that students who selected Option 1, in-person will be in school five days a week.  Students who selected Option 2, at-home, will remain at-home through the semester.  Because teachers are no longer having to teach two separate groups of students, all students, at-home and in-person will follow our school-wide A/B schedule.  Mondays and Thursdays will be A-days and Tuesdays and Fridays will be B-days.  At-home students are expected to participate synchronously in classes using ClassLink and CANVAS. Wednesdays will be different for in-person and at-home students.  On Wednesdays, at-home students will work asynchronously from home and in-person students will operate on a C-day schedule, which will allow them to attend A and B day classes for shorter amounts of time.

To add to the challenge of scheduling, this Wednesday (9/2/2020) is a scheduled half-day for in-person students.  Breakfast and lunch will be served, buses will run, and we will begin dismissal at 10:45am.

This week, all ERHS students will complete a district-mandated Social and Emotional Learning Screener.  At-home and in-person students should complete the screener.  Check your 5th block CANVAS class for the link beginning Wednesday.

Please note that there are no accountability forms included this week.  We can now verify attendance through CANVAS activity.  Students must log in and log out of CANVAS daily.  If you just close your chromebook, your daily attendance will not register in the system.  Make it a habit of logging in daily to ensure that your attendance is verified.

This is a busy week for our athletic teams.  Our volleyball team will be in action Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; our girls' soccer team will be in action Tuesday and Thursday; our cross country team will be in action Tuesday; and our football team will be in action Friday.  Let's support our Pioneers.

Thank you so much for your continued support and grace.  Please continue to take the necessary precautions to keep our school and our community safe.  Have a wonderful evening.
